What is Fine Art Printing?

Archival pigment prints of today surpass the so called "giclee" prints of the 1980's. The word giclee is an outdated generic term. I want my clients to be informed of the different printers, inks and media that are available and what specifically I use at Brady Fine Art.

Brady Fine Art uses the absolute finest pigment ink, paper, and canvas such as Hahnemuhle, Moab, Epson Exhibition, Canson, HP Fine Art and handmade Japanese Washi.

Lamination of all canvas media is highly recommended. I use the finest in UV lamination protection such as Premier Imaging ECO Print Shield.

I also custom create my own icc profiles for all media to provide the absolute best print possible. When you are comparing print labs make sure you know what printer and inks are being used. Never be satisfied with just the word giclee to define the entire printing process.

I am constantly testing new paper media as they become available worldwide to provide you with the absolute best. I treat each customer as an individual and want to give you the best choice for your final print.

I offer in house Fine Art Reproduction of your artwork. My art reproduction work is done digitally to exacting standards. Please, call for a quote for location work. I offer image retouching, color correction or any other type of image editing needs.

Printer & Ink:

I use the HP Z3200 Fine Art Printer with the Vivera 12 Archival Pigment ink system. The most archival pigment inks available (better than the current 2017 model Canon or Epson inks). In fact archival quality is unsurpassed by using any other printer available today.

Choosing the right paper and canvas is essential. If you already work with a certain type of paper we can discuss that. All the ICC paper profiles are custom made for each individual paper and updated frequently. I work very closely with all the hardware, software, and paper companies to insure the very latest technologies are used.

Canvas Stretching - Gallery Wrap

In order to have enough canvas to be able to wrap around the stretcher bars and staple on the back you need to add additional space around the image area, I can do this for you. Choices are white, black or any custom color.

Gallery wrap is when I extend the image to the side of the bars. There are several different options.
Standard size stretcher bars add 1.5" of extra space around all 4 sides which adds 3" total to the height and width. Example: 16" x 20" final size would be 19"x 23".
Heavy Duty size stretcher bars add 2.5" of extra space around all 4 sides which adds 5" total to the height and width. Example: 16" x 20" final size would be 21" x 25".
Paper Face Size Standard Size Bars (.75" thick) Heavy Duty (1.5" thick)
8" x 10" $25 $35
